Kathie & Bill Johnstone are the founders and principals of Johnstone Enterprises, Incorporated. This golf inspired company creates and directs destination Golf Championships through two company divisions, “Husband & Wife Golf Championships” and “GOLF - Variations on a Theme”. ”Husband & Wife Golf Championships” presents signature events and “GOLF - Variations” offers partnership events with Golf Associations. resorts and travel companies. Johnstone Enterprises, Incorporated has managed scores of community, corporate and charity golf outings. They also present golf exhibitions, instructional opportunities and offer golf merchandise retail services. Johnstone Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 1985.
BILL JOHNSTONE, PGA MASTER PROFESSIONAL
Bill served as Head Golf Professional at Atlanta Country Club for seventeen years from 1993 – 2009. Atlanta Country Club hosted the PGA Tour’s “BellSouth Atlanta Classic” for 30 years through 1996. Before coming to Atlanta, Bill was the Head Professional at LaGrange C.C. in LaGrange, Illinois and also Radnor Valley C.C. in Villanova, Pennsylvania.
Bill became the 72nd PGA Member to attain “Master Professional” status. He has served as a PGA Section Officer and Board Member with several committee involvements. He is presently a “PGA Travel Ambassador” for PGA Magazine. Local golf TV shows in Philadelphia, Illinois, and Georgia have featured Bill as an instructor and “trick-shot artist”. Several local golf publications have featured his instruction articles and his involvements in the golf community. The PGA has honored Bill with three Georgia Section “Strausbaugh Awards”, the “Georgia PGA Senior & Super Senior Player of the Year Awards”, two Illinois Section “Junior Golf Leader Awards”, and the Georgia North Chapter “Golf Professional of the Year Award”. Bill has been recognized on the “Best Teachers in State” lists from Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.
As an amateur golfer, Bill won four state championships and was the Yankee Conference collegiate champion. As a professional, Bill has won over a dozen PGA Section events including the “Georgia PGA Senior Championship”. Bill is a former member of the PGA Tour. He has played more than 600 different golf courses worldwide with four course records and eight holes-in-one to his credit.
Joe Kirkwood, the world’s premier “trick-shot artist”, was Bill’s childhood golf instructor and club professional. As Mr. Kirkwood’s protégé, Bill and his wife, Kathie, have donated their “Golf-Variations on a Theme” trick-shot exhibition at dozens of events throughout the US and Caribbean. They have helped raise significant dollars for charities.
Bill is currently the Executive Director of the Southern Seniors Golf Association. The SSGA hosts six destination golf events per year for their membership of senior golfers from all over the United States.
KATHIE JOHNSTONE
Kathie has extensive experience in creating and managing special events for foundations, charities, school districts and clients. She also managed the merchandising program for the Atlanta Classic PGA Tour events. Kathie is a former PSGA figure skating professional and coach. She has experience as a teaching faculty member from the elementary school level through college level. She continues to formally educate adolescents from grades five through college about life issues for HealthWise Incorporated.
Kathie has served on school boards in Illinois and Georgia. She was elected Chairperson of the Cobb Country School Board overseeing an annual budget just under one billion dollars.
Kathie presents leadership expertise, organizational excellence and professional consistency to every project in which she is involved. Kathie is currently the Director of Events for the Southern Seniors Golf Association. The SSGA hosts six destination golf events per year for their membership of senior golfers from all over the United States.
